Why Choose Us for GRE Preparation in Thane
Current Format, Not Outdated Material
The GRE was shortened in September 2023 to under 2 hours, with the unscored section removed. We coach the current test.
Every Question Counts
With the experimental section gone, every question you answer counts toward your score. We teach consistency accordingly.
Vocabulary in Context, Not Word Lists
Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence rewards contextual reasoning. We build vocabulary the way the test actually tests it.
Score-Focused, Not Generic
Your study plan targets the section weighting your specific target programs actually care about.
Small Batches
Individual feedback on your Analytical Writing and Quantitative problem-solving approaches.
One Office, Your Whole Journey
GRE prep, university shortlisting, and application support, handled by the same team in Thane West.
What's Actually On The Test
| Section | Duration | What It Tests |
|---|---|---|
| Analytical Writing | 30 min | One "Analyze an Issue" essay |
| Verbal Reasoning | ~41 min (2 sections) | Reading comprehension, text completion, sentence equivalence |
| Quantitative Reasoning | ~47 min (2 sections) | Algebra, arithmetic, geometry, data analysis |
Who Actually Needs the GRE?
Master's & PhD Applicants
Required or accepted by graduate programs across the US, and increasingly in Canada and Europe, for most disciplines outside business.
MBA Applicants
An increasing number of business schools now accept the GRE as an alternative to the GMAT.
Non-Quant Backgrounds Applying to Business School
GRE's Quantitative section is generally considered more accessible than GMAT's for candidates without a strong quant background.
Subject-Specific Applicants
Programs in physics, psychology, or literature in English sometimes require a GRE Subject Test in addition to the General Test.
Typical Score Requirements by Program Type
| Programme Type | Typical Quant | Typical Verbal |
|---|---|---|
| Competitive STEM master's/PhD | 160+ | 150+ |
| Competitive humanities/social science | 150+ | 160+ |
| MBA (where GRE is accepted) | 155+ | 155+ |
What Does Each Section Really Demand?
Analytical Writing
One "Analyze an Issue" essay in 30 minutes. Scoring rewards clear structure and well-supported argument over length; we drill this specifically against ETS's scoring criteria.
Verbal Reasoning
Reading comprehension tests inference and argument analysis, not literal recall. Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence test vocabulary through sentence logic, which rewards contextual reasoning far more than memorized word lists.
Quantitative Reasoning
High-school-level algebra, arithmetic, geometry, and data analysis, not advanced calculus. An on-screen calculator is available throughout, so the real challenge is problem interpretation and multi-step reasoning.

How It Works
GRE vs GMAT: Which Should You Take?
| Test | Best For |
|---|---|
| GRE | Non-business graduate programs (required), broader verbal, calculator-allowed quant. |
| GMAT | Business-specific Data Insights section: some MBA programs still require it by name. |
